Don’t Stop Believing

Hi everybody, thank you for joining me today. Today’s focus is going to be slightly different. It’s not going to be like all of my other 15 previous posts. We will be back on track with our regular stuff after today. The topic for today’s post should be about music… based on my scheduling I have for my posts. However, it is going to be about our passions, what we really enjoy doing. I suppose you can say it is a post about hobbies, even though that topic was covered in just the last blog titled “Peanut Butter Crisscross”. But today’s focus is different, but whether you believe me or not, I will tie in a bit of music to try and stay on schedule.

Now, we all have hobbies and things we’re passionate about, right? For some of us, we might have one thing we’re passionate about. Others might have two or more things. Well, I fall under that group that has two or more things that we’re passionate about. I’m passionate about movies, music, tv, games, baking, and sports. But the one thing I’m SUPER passionate about is writing. I love to write! I love being able to tell a story, whether it’s from experience or something original that I have created. All of these passions of mine are why I started this blog. I not only wanted to find a way to write, but I wanted to be able to share my interests and experiences.

When it comes to writing, I am not consistent in giving myself a title. I sometimes tell people I’m a writer. But most of the time I say I’m an aspiring writer, as I have not yet had anything professionally done. I have been working hard to find an opportunity where I can at least get my foot in the door. I’m sure we’ve all been there, right? Not necessarily for writing, but for other job opportunities or something else we’re passionate about. We’ve all been going through some hard times, especially the last couple of years. The cost of living is expensive. There are people who are working two or three jobs, maybe more. There are others out there who a searching for that second or third job and it’s not easy.

For those who are looking for that second or third job to earn a little extra pocket money, I want you to know, you are not alone. Whoa, that’s the title of a Michael Jackson song. You Are Not Alone was released in 1995. I did that purely by accident… but I mean it, though. You are not alone. There are plenty of others out there, including myself, who are looking to earn a little extra cash. It feels like it’s harder when it’s something you REALLY want to do. You can search high and low, try everything under the sun, without anything to show for it.

I know it’s hard. Believe me, I completely understand. You can try everything and not get the results you are looking for. It’s hard. When you don’t get the results you were hoping for, it can be disheartening. It may make you feel uninspired, unmotivated. It may even make you feel like your self-confidence is dropping. Again, I understand. I feel for you, because that’s what I’m feeling now. I love being able to write, but because I haven’t had any luck, yet, I haven’t been feeling very motivated or inspired. I just wanted to come here and be able to share with you and show you that nobody is alone.

Yes, it’s true that I haven’t had much faith in believing that hard work will eventually pay off, but I’m not giving up yet. If I’m not giving up, you shouldn’t either. That makes me think of a song the group Journey did, Don’t Stop Believin’. It’s not so much the lyrics, but the song title. We just need to keep on persevering and hope everything turns out for the best. I am with you. I understand the struggle. I know it’s going to be kind of a long and difficult road, but don’t stop believing.
